"Dr. Yuri Bezdverny served a long term as an assessing
Immigration physician for Canada and US Immigration and Citizenship
providing professional and caring services to the adoptive
community. Now Dr. Bezdverny is offering services directly to
the parents. His wide knowledge of the potential medical conditions
and developmental standards that he has witnessed by his extensive
exposure with institutionalized children in Ukraine, has clearly
made him an asset to the adoptive community."

It is well known that main inhabitants of orphanages
are children who were abandoned by parents suffering from alcohol
or drug abuse, psychological disorders or unsociable behavior.
Sometimes, the environment in the orphanages does not support
recovery of the orphans from minimal disorders and does not promote
healthy growth.
Regulations of many countries (Western Europe)
do not require medical examination of children to be adopted.
However, US regulations require medical examination of children
to be adopted after the process of adoption has already been completed.
That is why a pre-adoption medical examination
of orphans to be adopted is very important. This may help
prospective parents to avoid adoptions of children with significant
psychological and physical defects and to estimate prognosis for
orphans with different levels of developmental delay.
